Here you can choose between a gentle meander along a riverside to the local pub or coffee shop or take a longer circular route via special sites of historic and natural interest. For the more adventurous the Ale Water Valley is also a gateway to the iconic long route walks which traverse the region and link to Scotland’s Great Trails - the Borders Abbeys Way, Southern Upland Way, St Cuthbert’s Way and the Scottish National Trail.
