Riddell Estate, which has its roots in the 12th century, is a working estate with organic farming, commercial woodland, field sports and other diversified enterprises. Riddell was home to the Riddell family for 700 years until it was purchased by the Sprots in 1823 whose direct descendants, the Grant family still run it.
Points of Interest
Riddell Estate has sheep, cattle and a variety of crops. One of its key attractions is Riddell Tower, also known as the General’s Tower, which is surrounded by beautiful woodland. Riddell, in its entirety is a species-rich, bio-diverse natural environment. It is a fertile homeland to roe-deer and many native birds such as woodpeckers and herons.
The Ale River runs through the heart of Riddell, which is home to Clerklands Fly Fishery. The estate lies a field away from Ian Stark Equestrian Centre and borders with Whitmuir Farm.

Riddell Estate has 3 accommodation options on the Estate, Riddell House which sleeps up to 10 guests in 5 luxury bedrooms. Bowismiln Cottage which sleeps up to six guests. The cottage has its own kennel and is surrounded by views of green fields and sheep, next to the Ale River and located down a quiet private track.
