Riddell Estate

Riddell, which has its roots in the 12th century, is a working estate with organic farming, commercial woodland, field sports & other diversified enterprises.

Riddell was home to the Riddell family for 700 years until it was purchased by the Sprots in 1823 whose direct descendants, the Grant family still run it.

Riddell Estate has sheep, cattle and a variety of crops. One of its key features is Riddell Tower, also known as the General’s Tower which is surrounded by beautiful woodland. Riddell, in its entirety is a species rich, bio-diverse natural environment. It is a fertile homeland to roe- deer and many native birds such as woodpeckers and herons.

The Ale Water runs through the heart of Riddell which is home to Clerklands Fly Fishery and Sealpin Gundogs. The estate lies a field away from Ian Stark Equestrian Centre and borders with Whitmuir.

We have a Holiday Cottage at Riddell Estate which sleeps up to 6 guests. The cottage has its own kennel and is surrounded by views of green fields and sheep, next to the river and located down a quiet private track. Please get in touch for availability and pricing.
